SelectricalE wants everyone to be able to use this Site, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and to follow WCAG 2.2 where we can.
What we have done
- Every page has a clear heading structure, page landmarks, and a "Skip to main content" link for keyboard users
- All functions work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator
- Photo slideshows pause on hover or focus and have a pause button, and they stay still if your device asks for reduced motion
- Images that carry information have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers
- Text and background colors were checked for sufficient contrast, including over the dark bands
- Form fields have visible labels and work with browser autofill
- The Site works on phones and tablets and can be zoomed to 200% without losing content
- Pages were tested with the axe accessibility engine and by manual keyboard review
Known limitations
- The Instagram feed on the home page is provided by a third-party service, and we cannot fully control how it is presented to assistive technology. The same posts are available on our Instagram page.
- Project photos are described briefly. If you want more detail about any project, contact us and we will be happy to describe it.
Tell us if something is not working
If you have trouble using any part of the Site, or you would like information in another format, call or text (720) 295-5255 or use the contact form. Please tell us which page you were on and what happened. We aim to reply within two business days and to fix real barriers promptly.
